White Water Rafting 2011

ImageBoy Scout Troop 226 left the Scout hut Saturday morning, August 20, 2011, at 9:30 am and drove to the Hiwassee Outfitters to kayak down the Hiwassee River.  After the trip, they traveled to Adventures Unlimited campground.  On Sunday, the adults and scouts went white water rafting on the Ocoee River in two rafts.  There are photos from the trip in our gallery, and some action photos from the outfitter (look for Mr. Bosworth riding the bull on the Ocoee Classic Middle 8.21.11 9.00am trip). Photos from HiwasseePhotos.com are also available (4:00pm , 5:00pm , 6:00pm).

Summer Camp 2011

ImageTroop 226 Boy Scouts attended Camp Sequoyah for summer camp from July 10 through July 16, 2011, and one Troop 226 Boy Scout served on Camp Staff.  Daniel worked on camp Staff for the entire summer.  Andrew, Joshua, Jeff, Michael, Jason, and David attended merit badge classes, Adventure Valley, Sequoyah Sidewinder water slide, troop rifle, shotgun and archery shooting, troop free swim, and breakfast. lunch, and dinner at the dining hall. The boys hung out at the tradiing post during free time, or before and after merit badge classes.  Mr. Karg, Mr. Moran, and Mr. Ford stayed at the camp during the week.

The boys' parents brought picnic dinners to the Campsite on Wednesday evening, and stayed for the Order of the Arrow campfire.

Several scouts were recognized at the Friday night closing campfire with an invitation to Top Gun, the elite shooting competion held at the end of August.

Summer Camp 2010

ImageNine Troop 226 Boy Scouts attended Camp Sequoyah for summer camp from June 6 through June 12, 2010, and two Troop 226 Boy Scouts are serving on Camp Staff.  Daniel and Joshua are serving on Staff.  Colin, Andrew, Joseph, Jeff, Sam, Ben, Will, Michael and David attended merit badge classes, Adventure Valley, Sequoyah Sidewinder water slide, troop rifle, shotgun and archery shooting, troop free swim, and breakfast. lunch, and dinner at the dining hall. The boys hung out at the tradiing post during free time, or before and after merit badge classes.  Mr. Karg and Mr. Moran stayed at the camp during the week.
